Daylight Donuts Set to Make a Sweet Return to Excelsior Springs

Excelsior Springs, MO – After a donut drought of more than five years, the residents of Excelsior Springs are buzzing with excitement over the grand opening of a new Daylight Donuts. The new establishment is set to open its doors at 119 Crown Hill Road, a site steeped in local history. It was previously home to El Maguey and, before that, the original McDonald’s location. This development marks a sweet return for the donut franchise to the community, filling a void left by its downtown predecessor.

Owners and managing partners, Zak Keng and Anna An, have been the force behind this revival, injecting passion and expertise into the project. With several successful Daylight Donuts locations under their belts, the duo has chosen Excelsior Springs as their latest venture, attracted by the town’s warm community spirit and quaint atmosphere.

In preparation for the grand opening on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 5:00 AM, Keng and An have fully remodeled the store, promising a bright and welcoming space for customers. They are not only bringing back the beloved Daylight Donuts classics, such as biscuits and gravy and sausage rolls, but are also spicing up the menu with the addition of Snow Boba Tea. This new offering aims to provide a unique and refreshing option for afternoon refreshment.

The anticipation for this opening is palpable among Excelsorites, who have longed for the return of a dedicated donut spot. While grocery stores and convenience shops have offered substitutes, nothing compares to the specialty and freshness of a Daylight Donut. “We’ll keep the donuts fresh and hot all day long!” promises Zak Keng, reflecting the enthusiasm and readiness of the team to serve the community.

With their commitment to quality and a keen understanding of what locals crave, Keng and An are poised to make the new Daylight Donuts a cherished spot in Excelsior Springs. As doors open early Monday morning, large crowds are expected, drawn by the promise of delicious treats and the return of a local favorite.
