This Friday, September 10, The Bill Hightower Team and the Halberstadt Homes Team, both from the ReeceNichols Realtors Excelsior Springs, are once again working together to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House of Kansas City by selling Chiefs spirit flags at our local McDonald’s. This “Red Friday” marks the eighth straight year the Hunt Foundation has worked to raise funds for The Ronald McDonald House. Over the past seven years the charity drive has generated more than $2.8 million dollars in funding for the cause. This year the regional fund drive is looking to raise $1 million.
The Bill Hightower Team members, Michelle Goode and Melissa Bartlett, began selling the Chiefs flags with their friend Amber Stafford seven years ago because they wanted to cheer on their favorite team while also giving back to the community. Over the past several years it has grown from these few friends to the entire real estate office working together and having fun. Goode said the flags are scheduled to be on sale from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM on Friday morning, but she said she doesn’t expect their supply to last very long. Since NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes has taken over the starting job as quarterback for the Chiefs fans are all on board to support the team. Goode says she’ll be surprised if they don’t run out of flags within the first hour. Suggested donation for a flag is $5.00 during the Red Friday event, but if you can’t make it to out to McDonald’s on Friday morning you can go to shop.chiefs.com and purchase a flag for a donation of $10.00.
