EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo., Oct. 6, 2025 — The Suburban Conference Blue winning streak continued for the Tiger soccer team with two more wins last week. An 8-0 win over the Raytown South Cardinals and a 3-1 win over the Kearney Bulldogs gave the Tigers a 5-0 record with five conference games left on the schedule.

The Oct. 6 win over Raytown South was a dominant one that ended at halftime due to the MSHSAA mercy rule. Sophomore Tyler Wartner opened up the scoring in the third minute of the game, with the assist going to sophomore Gauge Facciuto. Senior Brady Schoonover scored on an unassisted goal in the ninth minute and then on a penalty kick right at the 10-minute mark. Wartner scored the next two goals for the Tigers with goals in the 17th minute and the 20th minute to push the lead to 5-0. Sophomore Ethan Tade got in on the scoring with a goal in the 26th minute, with senior Jaxon Hellyer getting the assist. Wartner picked up his fourth goal of the game in the 30th minute off an assist from Hellyer, and Facciuto finished off the scoring with an assist from Tade in the 30th minute for the Tigers. Freshman goalkeeper Roman Jones picked up the win in goal with the help of the Tiger defenders, without a Cardinal shot on goal.

The matchup with the Kearney Bulldogs remained scoreless in the first 40 minutes and was tied at nil going into the half. Wartner got the Tigers on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal in the 47th minute. The Bulldogs notched it up at 1-1 with a goal in the 58th minute. The Tiger attack struck again in the 67th minute when Schoonover found the net to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead. Facciuto gave the Tigers a two-goal lead in the 72nd minute when Hellyer found him open for an assist. Jones picked up the win in goal again for the Tigers. He had seven saves on the night, with the one goal allowed.
