CLAY COUNTY, Mo. – The trial of Timothy Haslett Jr., accused of ten counts, including rape, kidnapping, and murder, has been scheduled to begin on October 26, 2026, at 9 a.m. in Clay County Circuit Court. A pre-trial conference is set for October 9, 2026.
Haslett was arrested in 2022 after a woman allegedly escaped captivity from Haslett’s basement “dungeon” in Excelsior Springs and alerted police, leading to a wide-reaching investigation. Since then, the case has drawn regional and national attention.
