Family Fun Day returns to Macken Park Sept. 20

NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Families are invited to Macken Park on Saturday, Sept. 20, for the Clay County Public Health Center’s 9th annual Family Fun Day.

The free festival runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offers families a chance to explore local resources while enjoying games, food, and entertainment. Organizers said past events have drawn more than 600 participants, and they expect that number to continue to grow.

This year’s Family Fun Day will feature 25 local organizations offering hands-on activities and information on topics such as physical activity, nutrition, healthcare, safety, mental health, and education. Games will include an egg-and-spoon race, giant bowling, parachute play, kite-making, and more.

Raffle prizes aimed at encouraging healthy lifestyles will also be given away, including sports equipment, cooking sets, fitness trackers, and several bicycles with helmets.

Three food trucks — The Stuffed Mushroom, Chop’s BBQ, and Snow & Roast — will be on site.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the Family Fun Day event page on Facebook.
