Excelsior Springs, Mo. – Excelsior Springs residents can look forward to a summer filled with music, food, and community spirit as the Lyrics on the Lawn concert series returns to the Hall of Waters Lawn starting Friday, June 6.

Hosted by Downtown Excelsior Partnership (DEP), the free weekly series will feature live performances every Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. through September 12. Set on the lawn of the historic Hall of Waters at 201 E. Broadway, the event invites attendees to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere under the stars.

This year’s lineup includes a diverse range of performers, from classic rock and blues to Americana and contemporary country. The season opens with Repeat Offenders, offering classic rock from the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Other notable acts include the soulful stylings of Anasazi (June 13), cosmic country from Western Hippie (June 20), and local favorite Jesse Harris (July 11). The summer wraps up with a high-energy finale by Double Jointed Music on September 12.

In addition to the music, food trucks will be on-site each week offering a rotating menu of eats from local favorites like Ray’s Diner, Rico Pico KC, Sweet & Savory Delites, and more. Outside food and alcohol are not permitted, but guests are encouraged to support the vendors available.

The event series is part of DEP’s ongoing mission to activate downtown spaces, support local businesses, and create opportunities for community engagement. Lyrics on the Lawn has grown into a summer tradition, bringing together families, friends, and visitors for an evening of live entertainment in the heart of the city.
