LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. (November 1, 2025) – The season came to an end for the Tiger cross country teams at the MSHSAA Class 4 District 4 meet. Lee’s Summit North High School hosted the Class 4 and Class 5 meets, with the top 30 runners in each class advancing to the state championship meet on November 7.
The Lady Tigers had two runners compete at the district level, with senior Kirsten Stout being the top Lady Tiger finisher, crossing the finish line in 59th place with a time of 24:01.63. Sophomore Luna Bigham finished in 85th place with a time of 28:24.86.
Sophomore Lane Collins was the top Tiger to finish on the boys’ side, coming in 53rd with a time of 19:21.5. Senior William Tade finished 74th with a time of 20:57.94, and senior Conrad Purnell was 77th with a time of 21:06.04. Sophomore Ivan Overfield placed 84th with a time of 21:28.06, followed by freshman Drake Whitney finishing in 100th place with a time of 22:50.39.
The district champion for the girls was Avery Vander Veen of Pleasant Hill, crossing the finish line at 18:57.19, with Skyler Knight of Warrensburg finishing second in 19:10.34. The final state-qualifying time came in at 21:28.87 for the girls.
Koen Tenjack of Lincoln College Prep took home the boys’ district championship with a time of 16:19.14. Cameron Fowler of Kearney was second, coming in right behind Tenjack with a time of 16:20.51. The final qualifying time for the boys was 17:50.18.
Lincoln College Prep took home the boys’ team district title with five runners finishing in the top 20. Warrensburg finished in second place, and Capital City High School out of Jefferson City was third. The Kearney Bulldogs were the district champions on the girls’ side with three top-20 finishers. Capital City was second, and Warrensburg was third.
The state championship meet will be held at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia to declare individual and team state champions in Classes 1–4.
