
KEARNEY, Mo., Oct. 13, 2025 — The Kearney Invitational brought in 42 teams to Jesse James Park to take on the 5K course through the park. The Excelsior Springs boys and girls teams took eight runners to compete in the 3.1-mile race.
Sophomore Elizabeth Ringenberg was the top Lady Tiger finisher with a time of 22:34.2, putting her in 60th place in the 160-participant race. Senior Kirsten Stout finished in 94th place with a time of 24:06. Caroline Bowen of St. Teresa’s Academy took home the individual girls’ championship with a time of 18:48, with Lily Hurt of Liberty finishing in second place at 19:31. St. Teresa’s Academy won the team championship, with Blue Springs South finishing second and Kearney taking third.
The boys’ race was won by Jack McGovern of Rockhurst with a time of 15:34.4, while Colin McKenna of Liberty finished in second place at 16:10.5. Sophomore Lane Collins was the first Tiger to cross the finish line with a time of 19:43.8, placing 112th. Senior William Tade was the 148th runner to finish with a time of 21:10.6, and senior Conrad Purnell was 150th at 21:14.7. Sophomore Ivan Overfield was 167th with a time of 22:13.2, followed by sophomore Henry Lockwood at 22:52.7 and freshman Drake Whitney at 22:56.4.
Rockhurst had three runners finish in the top ten and took home the team title. Lee’s Summit was second, followed by Park Hill South in third place.
