EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo. (Sept. 7, 2025) – The Lady Tiger softball team will be sending one of its seniors to play at the collegiate level next fall. Senior Willa Schreier recently committed to continue her academic and softball career at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa.

Briar Cliff is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), competing in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. Schreier has been a four-year varsity starter for coach Megan Gilbertson and the Lady Tigers. She has seen time in the outfield, at third base, and behind the plate. She intends to use that same versatility at the collegiate level, preparing herself as a utility player, willing to play wherever she is needed.

“I chose Briar Cliff because of the opportunity to be coached by individuals who have played for softball legends and because of the close-knit environment this college offers,” Schreier said.
