EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo. – The Clay County Public Health Center and its partners are inviting residents to learn about the results of the 2025 Northland Community Health Assessment (CHA) through a series of community presentations scheduled for late September and early October.
The CHA compiles extensive data and community feedback on the health and well-being of people who live in, work in, or visit Kansas City’s Northland. The process incorporates resident surveys, census data, hospital records, and other public health indicators to identify key challenges and priorities for improving health outcomes.
Community Presentations Scheduled
Residents will have several opportunities to attend and participate in the discussion of the findings:
- Saturday, Sept. 27, 1–2 p.m. – Mid-Continent Public Library, Antioch Branch
- Tuesday, Sept. 30, 6–7 p.m. – North Kansas City Public Library
- Tuesday, Oct. 7, 6–7 p.m. – Excelsior Springs Community Center
Each session will feature a presentation of the CHA findings, a look at plans from local health organizations to address pressing issues, and an open forum for community members to share their perspectives. Free food will be provided, and childcare will be available through Jovi to make the events more accessible
Why the CHA Matters
The CHA serves as a cornerstone for community health planning. It identifies the most urgent needs, guides policy decisions, and helps local governments and organizations align resources to support healthier communities. Following the assessment, a Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) will be developed to outline measurable goals, strategies, and timelines for action.
A Collaborative Effort
The 2025 CHA reflects the combined efforts of the Northland Health Alliance and other regional health partners. Organizers emphasize that resident participation is vital in shaping next steps, as community input ensures the improvement plan reflects local experiences and priorities.
