EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo., Oct. 14, 2025 — Lady Tigers Softball will be sending another one of their players to play at the collegiate level next year. Senior pitcher Kayden Rogers announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic career at Metropolitan Community College (MCC) in Kansas City.
Rogers, a four-year starter in the circle and in the outfield for the Lady Tigers, will spend all of her time in the circle for the Wolves, who play out of the Maple Woods campus with their home field at Happy Rock Park in Gladstone.
“I picked MCC because I am pursuing my associate of applied science degree in radiologic technology, and I will be able to continue playing softball, which is something that not all colleges allow with that program,” Rogers said.
As Rogers continues her education in radiologic technology, she plans to pursue an additional certificate in computed tomography.
MCC is coached by Autumn Hughes, who has been at the helm of the Wolves since July 2021. The program competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as a member of Region 16. The Wolves posted a 15-29-1 record in the spring of 2025.
Rogers grew up learning the game of softball while playing for the ES Cyclones competitive team, coached by Chris Schreier. She credits Schreier and Curt Hochwender for developing her as a player and Scott Collins for helping her grow as a hitter.
Rogers is the daughter of Kendrick and Amanda Rogers. She has two siblings, her twin sister Kinley and her brother Remington.
