Witch Way to the Wine - Downtown Excelsior Partnership

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo. (October 2025) — From family-friendly trunk-or-treats to spooky hotel pop-ups and costume contests, the Excelsior Springs area has plenty of fall fun for all ages. Here’s your guide to this year’s Halloween happenings and fall festivals.


Downtown Excelsior Springs Trick or Treating

Friday, October 31 • 4–6 p.m.

Kids can dress up and stroll downtown to collect candy from local merchants.

Note: An earlier version of this story included the Bill Payne Party but that has been moved to Saturday, October 25th at 3pm. Watch for more details to come.


1st Annual Donnici’s Halloween Car Show & Trunk or Treat

Sunday, October 19 • 9 a.m.
Donnici’s Italian Market & Deli

Enjoy classic cars, creative costumes, and Halloween spirit at Donnici’s first-ever car show and trunk-or-treat.

Trophies will be awarded for best car, best decorations, and best costumes. Free to attend, though car registration is required.


Talented Tots “Haunted Hallways”

Wednesday, October 30 • 35 p.m.
1452 Kearney Rd., Excelsior Springs

Families are invited to explore not-too-scary Halloween hallways, enjoy candy, games, and activities, and take a free tour of the Talented Tots Learning Center. Admission is free and open to the public.


Elks Lodge Annual Trunk or Treat

Sunday, October 26 • 2–4 p.m.
421 S. Titus, Excelsior Springs

Join the Elks Lodge for a family-friendly event featuring treats, games, Junior’s Hayride, and a free meal of hot dogs, chips, and a drink. Costumes encouraged!


Eagles #3917 Events

Eagles Kids Halloween Party
Saturday, October 18 • 2–6 p.m.
14305 Y Hwy, Excelsior Springs

Kids can enjoy games, crafts, a cake walk, and a costume contest. Food and drinks will be provided.

Halloween Dance with Full Moon Band
Saturday, October 25 • 8 p.m.–Midnight
Includes live music, costume contest with prizes, jello shots, and a 50/50 drawing.


Witch Way to the Wine

Saturday, October 25 • Noon–5 p.m.
Downtown Excelsior Springs
Tickets: $30 at VisitExcelsior.com

Sip, stroll, and shop through downtown as more than 20 stops offer wine tastings in boutiques, galleries, and eateries. Costumes encouraged for this bewitching afternoon of local flavor and fun.


Wild Bunch Trunk or Treat

Sunday, October 26 • 4–6 p.m.

Community members are invited to decorate their trunks or bring the kids for candy and fun. Donations of candy or small toys are appreciated.


First United Methodist Church Trunk or Treat

Sunday, October 26 • 3–5 p.m.
Excelsior Springs

A safe and family-friendly afternoon of trunk-or-treating hosted by the church congregation.


Nightmare on Elms Street Pop-Up Bar

Thursdays–Sundays through Nov. 1 • 4–11 p.m.
The Elms Hotel & Spa

The historic Elms transforms into a spooky pop-up experience with eerie décor, themed cocktails, and haunting ambiance. Details at elmshotelandspa.com/events.htm.


Monster Ball 2025

Friday, October 24 • 7:30–11:30 p.m.
The Elms Hotel & Spa

Costume up for a night of dancing, music, appetizers, and prizes.
Tickets: $30 per person or $50 per couple in advance, $40/$60 at the door.
Proceeds benefit local arts scholarships through the Excelsior Springs Cultural Guild.

Death of a Gangster: 1920s Mafia Murder Mystery Dinner

Friday, October 31 • The Elms Hotel & Spa

Step into the roaring twenties for a night of mystery, glamour, and intrigue. Dress in 1920s fashion, enjoy a full dinner, and help solve a thrilling whodunit. Tickets available via The Elms website.


Fall Festival at the Excelsior Springs Community Center

Enjoy Touch-a-Truck, a Haunted House, hayrides, live music, vendors, firepits, and food trucks.

Harvest Celebration at Excelsior Springs Baptist Church
