Citizen Pet of the Week: Loki

Excelsior Springs, Mo. (Feb. 16, 2025) – Welcome to another edition of Citizen Pet of the Week! This week, meet Loki, Mindy Nichelle’s ten-month-old Sharpei/Pitbull mix.

Mindy describes Loki as a “talker,” sharing how fun it is to “have a conversation with him when he’s being playful.” She also notes how smart Loki is. He can do a number of tricks like high five, shake, and around (where he walks in a circle and then sits). Mindy enjoys teaching Loki new commands and says he picks things up very quickly.

Loki loves seeing all his friends at Century Bark Dog Park here in town. He can make friends with dogs of any size and always has a blast. The dog park isn’t the only thing Loki loves here in town though. He also enjoys getting a pup cup and/or treats from all the local businesses here in town willing to spoil him! When Loki isn’t playing with friends or being spoiled with treats, he loves a good nap, sometimes sleeping so well that he snores! A fun fact about Loki is he loves ice and the snow, but he hates the rain!

It is clear when Mindy talks about Loki how much she loves him. Mindy shared with the Citizen that her favorite things about Loki are “his loyalty and love, and personality.” Going on to note how Loki “just fit right in every aspect.” Mindy also shared Loki “loves all of my daycare kids and his big brother.”

Loki is definitely a social dog, which makes going places with him easy and fun for Mindy. With a face that cute, people who come across Loki in public love to stop and love on him as well!

A big thank you to Mindy for sharing Loki with us this week! Stay tuned next week to meet another furry citizen!
