Some big changes are in store for Excelsior Springs’ only 5K race on Saturday, April 15.
The Tortoise & Hare 5K (and 2-mile walk) has a new course, leaving from the Hall of Waters and mostly run on the Fishing River Linear Park Trail. Every runner will earn a medal, with design inspired by the Art Deco and Mayan artwork in the Hall of Waters. First place finishers will win a $100 gift card to The Running Well Store, age group winners will receive prizes, and there will be a new prize for King/Queen of the Hill (the first runners to reach the turnaround point at the top of Siloam Mountain).
Other Trails Coffee & Goods is now the corporate sponsor of the Tortoise & Hare. Thanks to their generous support, every dollar raised through registration fees will go directly to benefit The Good Samaritan Center in its mission to alleviate hunger and homelessness in our community.
We hope our local runners will come out to support our only local race! Learn more at https://runsignup.com/TortoiseAndHare
