Excelsior Springs, MO — The third annual Wild Bunch Car Show, held at the Wild Bunch Flea Market, saw a successful turnout this past weekend with 68 entries! They were raising funds and gathering donations for the Excelsior Springs Animal Control Center.
Located at 1218 N Jesse James Rd, the Wild Bunch Flea Market has become known for its community events, and this year’s car show further solidified its role in supporting local causes. The event featured a wide array of new and vintage cars and trucks, drawing enthusiasts and families alike to admire the vehicles and participate in various activities.
Tina Barton, owner of Wild Bunch Flea Market, expressed her excitement over the event’s success. “This is our third year hosting the car show,” Barton said. “Last year we got rained out, so it was great to see everyone come together this time to support the Excelsior Springs Animal Shelter.”
The car show included a 50/50 raffle, where half of the proceeds went to the shelter and the other half to the raffle winner. Additionally, Barton organized a collection drive for items needed at the shelter. “I went through and collected everything our vendors sell that is on the list of requested items for the shelter,” she explained. “The community and vendors really came together to donate a whole bunch of stuff.”
The event also featured fun activities for all ages, including a bounce house, making it a family-friendly outing. The flea market’s vendors and community members played a crucial role in supporting the event. “We have a lot of vendors who are super helpful in bringing in items and helping to pay for things like the bounce house to make this a real community event,” Barton noted.
As the community looks forward to the next event, Barton shared plans for a fall festival on August 11, 2024, featuring KC Wolf and cheerleaders from the Kansas City Chiefs. “We’re already gearing up for our next event in the fall, which will be a back-to-school football fest,” she said. “We’ll be handing out backpacks to all the kids, doing little drills, and giving out awards and medals.”
