Excelsior Springs, MO—Waterfest 2024 brought a vibrant mix of music to Excelsior Springs, Missouri, keeping festivalgoers entertained for two days packed with live performances.
The festivities kicked off on Friday, June 21st, with a crowd-pleasing set by The Ragged Heirs. This Kansas City-based band, formed by seasoned musicians from the local act Not A Planet, showcased their versatility with a blend of classic rock favorites from the 1960s. Audiences swayed to familiar tunes while enjoying the band’s interpretations of folk, blues, and even modern pop hits.
Taking over the stage later that night was Fast Times, a group dedicated to faithfully recreating the infectious energy of 1980s music. The five-piece band, featuring talented vocalists and musicians, transported the crowd back in time with iconic hits from Madonna, Billy Squier, Prince, Journey, and other defining artists of the decade. Attendees danced and sang along, reliving the era of neon lights, big hair, and unforgettable synth-driven melodies.
Waterfest concluded on Saturday night with a high-octane performance by Suburbans. This Kansas City institution, renowned as the city’s best good-time dance party band, delivered a genre-bending setlist guaranteed to get everyone moving. Refusing to be confined by stylistic limitations, Suburbans threw a diverse mix at the audience, featuring popular songs and dance hits spanning five decades of Top 40 charts. Their world-class vocals, top-notch musicianship, and infectious enthusiasm ensured a fittingly energetic close to the successful Waterfest weekend.
