The Excelsior Springs Police Department has announced significant traffic route changes at the McCleary and 69 Highway intersection due to the ongoing construction of the new QuikTrip store. These changes will affect local traffic starting Monday, June 10, and are expected to last through Friday, June 28.

Closure Details:

– McCleary Road Closure: McCleary Rd. will be closed in both directions between MO 69 Highway and Patsy Lane for re-construction.

– Duration: The closure will be in effect from June 10 to June 28.

Detour Information:

– Patsy Lane Detour: Patsy Lane will remain open and will serve as the detour route for both northbound and southbound McCleary Rd. traffic during this period.

The construction of the new QuikTrip store necessitates this temporary closure to ensure the safety of both the construction crews and the public. The re-construction work on McCleary Rd. aims to accommodate the increased traffic flow expected once the QuikTrip is operational.

The accident involved multiple vehicles, but fortunately, there were no life-threatening injuries reported. This incident underscores the importance of caution and awareness when navigating the affected areas during the construction period.

Drivers should take precaution when navigating the construction. Citizens are urged to exercise caution when traveling through the detour area, allow extra travel time for any potential delays, and to stay alert for any unexpected traffic changes due to accidents or construction activities.
