Posts that got you talking:

In a plea to the community, Khia Harris shared her friend Kaycee Lillard’s story and gofundme goal of $20,000 after transportation of her mobile home went awry, closing 10 Highway and resulting in the home being crashed into a ditch. Harris explained that Lillard hired someone to move it who did not follow direction or had proper moving requirements.

This post gathered over 160 comments, with most of them telling the homeowner to take legal action against the one responsible for moving it, pointing out that he was moving it with a pickup truck. One citizen, having worked in the truck industry, offered multiple suggested steps that could be taken to get her money back and get the home out of impound to make repairs.

While this question brought plenty of discussion, we followed up with Excelsior Springs Walmart and they said they would not be removing the self checkouts. That they have invested so much into the self-checkouts that they will remain. The other locations that are removing them have ongoing theft problems from them, which is why they’re being removed.

Citizens were happy to make suggestions for where this man and his wife can take these cats that have been abandoned. Many mentioned Ray County Animal Hospital, Humane Society of Ray County, NAWS, Town and Country Vet, Pet Resource Center, ES Friends of the Animals, Love n Care in Pleasant Valley, Chain of Hope, and others. One man offered to make winter shelters for them this winter, someone wanted to get connected to donate food, and one woman even offered to adopt one of the cats.
