While everyone chipped in on their favorite fast food restaurant, we also got some strong opinions on the need for restaurants and for later closing hours. There were the expected responses about fast food not being healthy and there were other people sharing that people only want what is fast and easy. Tony Bierle even challenged those commenting saying, “Y’all should invest some money and open these dreams.” A current manager of a Wendy’s, Maia Moriarty, said, “Manager at Wendy’s here – I’ve tried advocating for it already and offered to run it, too.” So, we’ll see!

When local realtor Bill Hightower shared video footage of a man approaching his trailer and trying to get it loose. With it being on a chain, the man was not successful and didn’t pursue any other methods to get the trailer free before leaving. After the photo was posted into the Excelsior Citizen group, citizens quickly began identifying the truck, given the unique Chiefs magnet and flags on either side.
Then, Dallas Parker posted on Facebook that he went to the City to find his missing trailer that was stolen from his driveway, sharing photos of a truck that matches the one in Hightower’s film. Do not approach the person if you see the truck, instead contact police.

The comments from this post revealed another citizen, Brian Densmore, who does the same. Their conversation revealed that there is a local cemetery owned by William Jewell College, which they are both trying to get access to. Megan posted an update that there are 14 forgotten, abandoned cemeteries in and around Excelsior Springs.
