Shamrock Ranch Wows Attendees at Ribbon Cutting Event

Denise and Mike Riley held a ribbon-cutting event at their new venue Shamrock Ranch (S Jason Cole).

The Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting for Shamrock Ranch event venue and VRBO left attendees in awe of the fabulous amenities and generous accommodations available to guests. Owners Mike and Denise Riley have spent the past four years transforming the old homestead into an amazing getaway and event space for special occasions. Originally purchased as a hunting property for Mike, the couple quickly learned about the history of the property and felt it was just too special to keep to themselves. According to their website they researched and planned for months before beginning an intensive renovation.

The Quonset barn, a focal point of the venue, was remodeled with reclaimed lumber and a new metal roof and is now the ideal location for up to 200 guests to gather. There is a “reception barn” which has been updated to handle overflow or to serve as a separate dining space. The catering kitchen comes equipped with a refrigerator, prep area, sinks, hand washing station, ice maker, and microwave.

According to the Rileys, the biggest undertaking was the main cabin. In addition to adding a hearth room, all windows and flooring were updated, the kitchen was fully gutted and remodeled, and a half-bath was added. The Rileys sought to keep as much character of the original cabin as possible while making it more user-friendly. It features four bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs, as well as a full bathroom and laundry area on the lower level. A 14-foot deck off the hearth room connects to a patio that wraps around to the newly redone porch at the front of the house while providing easy access to the property’s apple and peach orchard.

For those looking to explore there are more than 10 miles of trails on the property and two fishing ponds. The Rileys recently added three RV sites with electric hookups, a spigot for filling water tanks, and a portable fireplace that overlooks a spring-fed pond.

Guests at the ribbon cutting were amazed to discover all of the features of this “hidden gem,” located right here in Excelsior Springs. To learn more or to schedule a visit, check out the Shamrock Ranch Website.
