Excelsior Springs, Mo. (Dec. 1, 2024) – In an effort to support the Excelsior Springs business community and connect local job seekers with employers, the Excelsior Citizen has launched a new online jobs board, available at jobs.excelsiorcitizen.com. This platform provides an affordable and efficient way for local business owners to advertise job openings while helping residents find employment opportunities close to home.

The jobs board offers classified ads for as little as $1 per day, making it an accessible option for businesses of all sizes. Employers can post positions for up to 30 days for a flat rate of $30, and if a position is filled before the listing expires, they have the flexibility to remove the ad at any time.

This initiative was sparked by discussions within the Thrive Economic Vitality Committee, of which Courtney Cole, co-founder of the Excelsior Citizen, is an active member. The committee, dedicated to promoting economic growth and sustainability in Excelsior Springs, identified the need for a resource to connect local employers with job seekers.

A hyperlocal jobs board like this one has the potential to create lasting benefits for the community. According to Excelsior Springs City Manager Molly McGovern, only 20% of Excelsior Springs residents currently work within the city. The hope is that by encouraging local hiring, the jobs board could reduce commuting times, increase local spending, and promote a stronger connection between residents and businesses.

To further support the local business community, members of the Excelsior Springs Chamber of Commerce receive discounted rates on job postings. Business owners interested in learning more about these special rates can contact the Chamber of Commerce directly.

“We’re excited to launch this jobs board as a resource for both businesses and job seekers in Excelsior Springs,” said Courtney Cole. “Our goal is to create a centralized hub for employment opportunities that strengthens our local economy and promotes community growth.”

Local employers are encouraged to visit the site and explore the straightforward process for submitting job listings. Job seekers can browse postings to find opportunities in various industries, from retail and hospitality to professional services and more.
