The Excelsior Springs Christian Ministerial Alliance, in partnership with the city’s mayor, is gearing up for its annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. The event is set to take place on Thursday, May 4th, starting at 7:00 a.m. at The Elms.

The breakfast will incorporate a program that includes several highlights, such as a presentation of the Colors, the Excelsior Springs High School Choir performing the national anthem and a song, and prayers for the city, state, and nation, as well as for the public officials and city workers in attendance. There will also be a special prayer for schools and those officials and students present.

The event will feature a special guest speaker, Tim Doyle, who spent 16 years of his career as a broadcaster, TV news anchor/reporter, and radio announcer/producer. Doyle’s work has taken him from war zones in the Middle East to producing the world’s most listened to radio program for families. His ministry work spans from the former Soviet Union to Israel, from Northern Ireland to West Africa, and from the Caribbean across the U.S. Doyle transitioned into pastoral ministry in 2013 with the planting of Restoration Church in historic downtown St. Joseph, where he led the restoration of a 170-year-old warehouse in the urban core.

The breakfast is designed to wrap up by 8:00 a.m., allowing businesspeople in the community to participate. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at 10 different churches in Excelsior Springs, the Chamber Office, The Elms, the City Manager’s Office, Ambrose Buckman, or current city council members. The Excelsior Springs Christian Ministerial Alliance hopes to see many members of the community join them for this important event.
