Local Retailers Collaborate in Free Training to Keep Youth Safe and Healthy

Responsible retailers in the community are joining forces to prevent substance use among youth by attending a free training aimed at reducing the sale of alcohol and nicotine products to minors. The training is open to anyone who sells tobacco and/or alcohol products, with owners and managers strongly encouraged to attend alongside their employees.

The in-person training will take place on Thursday, April 20th from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at the Tri-County Mental Health Services Community Room (Suite 2005) located at 3100 NE 83rd St., Kansas City, MO 64119. The session will cover important topics including liquor laws and regulations, ID checking techniques, and strategies to prevent violations from occurring in your business.

Participants will also have the opportunity to develop relationships with local agents and other retailers, and learn how to utilize the Show Me ID identification checking app.

Seating is limited per training, so interested individuals are urged to RSVP to Diane by calling 816-468-0400 ext. 214 or emailing her at dianep@tri-countymhs.org.

By working together and promoting responsible retail practices, our community can make a difference in the lives of our youth.
