A fatal crash involving three vehicles occurred on Route M, just north of Clevenger Road Saturday morning at approximately 10:20 AM. The incident involved a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by a 17-year-old male juvenile from Creston, Iowa, a 2016 Ford Fusion driven by 60-year-old David E. Klaasen from Richmond, MO, and a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle, ridden by 67-year-old David G. Daniels from Lawson. The Dodge Ram and Ford Fusion were both traveling southbound while the Harley was traveling northbound.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred when the driver of the Dodge Ram made a left turn into a driveway, crossing into the path of Mr. Daniels’ motorcycle. In an effort to avoid the collision, Daniels swerved around the pickup truck but instead collided head-on with the Ford Fusion traveling in the opposite direction. Daniels sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:37 AM.
