John Booth, son of Benjamin Earley Booth & Phyllis Darlene Gray, passed away at the age of 76 on Nov. 22, 2025, in New Port Richey, Florida. John was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and spent a good part of his life in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. John proudly served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam with the U.S. Army as a Heavy Vehicle Operator. After returning home from the Army, he married Kathy Jones and went to work as a welder for Shippers Car Line. He later became an over-the-road truck driver and retired from Overnight Transportation in 1999.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Kay Booth; 2 sisters, Carla Higgins (Jay Morrison, Sr.) and Sheila Baldwin (Larry); a daughter, Kellie Clinton (Craig); a son, Rex Booth (Jenny); a step-son, Steven Settle (Melody); a step-daughter, Jenny Cox (Steven); 10 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Gary Dean Booth; a sister, Joyce “Sissy” Clariday; and his first wife, Kathy Jones.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, at the West Tracy Church of Christ, 27404 NE 144th St., Excelsior Springs, Missouri, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a Military Ceremony at 3 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to join us to celebrate his fun-filled life. In lieu of flowers, we will be accepting donations for the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.).

John will be remembered for his warm smile, his love of his family and his ability to make everyone laugh. He will be deeply missed by all who love him.
