Excelsior Springs, MO—J&J’s, a new convenience store offering a wider selection of essential goods, is slated to open later this month in downtown Excelsior Springs. The store should bring much-needed access to food and household items to a previously underserved area.
J&J’s will occupy the building formerly known as John’s Super and cater to the local community’s needs. While carrying typical convenience store fare like snacks and beverages, it will also stock grocery staples like eggs, milk, bread, and cheese, alongside cleaning supplies and toiletries. When we were there for our tour, we spoke with the Highland Dairy vendor, who said the prices of their products should be at or near major box store prices.

This expanded selection is a much-needed development for downtown, which has limited access to affordable, healthy, and fresh food options. The opening of J&J’s should bring essential goods closer to residents who may face transportation challenges or limited access to larger grocery stores on the west side of town.
Although ownership expects the store to open by the end of May, vendor issues have slightly delayed its launch. The Excelsior Citizen will update our readers with the confirmed opening date as soon as it becomes available.

More fast food and a Dennys. Plus a Golden Corral would be great 👍
