Introducing ExcelsiorEye.com, the Home for Local Photographers

The Excelsior Citizen has launched a new website ExcelsiorEye.com to help local photographers find a larger audience. The project originated when a friend of the Citizen, and standout photographer, Marty Williams announced his “retirement” from photography after his business partner and website guru at KCsports.net, Jeff Billings passed away suddenly in January of 2021. We knew that Marty wasn’t really ready to pack up his gear quite yet, so we reached out to him to see if we could offer him a place to host his photos. Marty’s reply was a resounding “yes!”

Marty Williams will be the first featured photographer on ExcelsiorEye.com (submitted photo).

Marty’s commitment to area high school sports photojournalism is legendary, with more than 14 years of experience covering local sports he has built relationships with school districts and families across the metro region. We feel lucky to have him as part of our team, helping to capture high school sports and activities for the Excelsior Springs, Lawson, and Liberty schools and families.

As we began to build ExcelsiorEye.com to host Marty’s photos we realized that the platform we were constructing could be utilized to help other photographers build their audience and sell prints. We are delighted to say that upon launch, ExcelsiorEye.com will also be the home for hometown photographers Kevin Morgan and Courtney Cole, with more to come. We look forward to continuing to serve the community of Excelsior Springs in new and exciting ways. Check out ExcelsiorEye.com and let us know what you think!
