Hitch Lot Garden Show Delivers the Goods for Regional Treasure Hunters

The 414 Company in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, played host to a treasure trove of vintage finds over the weekend of April 26th and 27th, as the Hitch Lot Garden Show brought together dozens of vendors from across the region and even as far away as Texas. Organized by Brenda and Mark Kilgore of Kilgore’s Vintage & Design, the event offered a unique shopping experience for vintage home decor enthusiasts.

Over 30,000 square feet of the 414 Company was transformed into a vintage haven, filled with booths showcasing the best finds from small, independently owned shops across the Midwest. Attendees were treated to a wide variety of vintage treasures, from furniture and homewares to clothing and collectibles.

But “The Hitch Lot Experience” wasn’t just about shopping; it was about creating a community atmosphere. The event offered free entry on Saturday, with a paid early bird option on Friday for those eager to get the first pick of the vintage bounty. Additionally, attendees enjoyed live music, delicious food, and craft beer throughout the weekend.

In keeping with the spirit of the season, the Hitch Lot Garden Show also featured a plant exchange, encouraging attendees to bring a plant and take a plant home. This clever touch added to the overall charm of the event, fostering a sense of community and shared love for vintage treasures and gardening.

With its focus on vintage finds, local vendors, and a welcoming atmosphere, the event perfectly complemented the city-wide garage sales held on the same weekend, solidifying Excelsior Springs’ reputation as a haven for vintage shopping enthusiasts. Whether you were a seasoned collector or simply looking for a unique piece to add character to your home, the Hitch Lot Garden Show offered something for everyone.
