Fresh from the Market: Your Farmers Market Report

Farmers Market

By: Tammy Murphy, Farmers Market Director

The Excelsior Springs Farmers Market is winding down its regular season with a burst of energy and excitement. As we reflect on another successful week, here’s a roundup of what you might have missed.

This week, the market had the pleasure of welcoming two newcomers who quickly won the hearts (and appetites) of market-goers. The Weenies & Paninis Food Truck made a flavorful debut, offering a delectable range of sandwiches and hot dogs. Their creative paninis and mouthwatering weenies were an instant hit.

Country Pair Crafts joined the market lineup, showcasing a variety of handcrafted items that highlighted the skill and artistry of local crafters. From jewelry to home decor, their unique creations added a touch of elegance to the market.

The heart of the Excelsior Springs Farmers Market has always been fresh, locally sourced produce. McCall’s Produce and Beckner’s Orchards continued to shine with their assortment of seasonal fruits and vegetables. From juicy apples to crisp bell peppers, shoppers were spoiled for choice.

With the holiday season just around the corner, market-goers got a head start on their festive preparations. Craft vendors unveiled an enchanting selection of holiday decorations, each piece crafted with care and creativity. These locally made treasures promise to add a special touch to holiday celebrations and make for meaningful gifts.

As the weather continued to bless us with warmth, Nonnie’s Shaved Ice provided the perfect way to beat the heat. Their refreshing shaved ice treats offered a delightful respite for visitors young and old. The great news is that Nonnie’s Shaved Ice will be a fixture at the market for the remainder of the year.

As the calendar inches towards October’s end, the Excelsior Springs Farmers Market has just two regular season weeks left. However, the grand finale on October 25th promises to be nothing short of spectacular. Market organizers have a packed schedule of activities, including:

– A kids’ costume contest judged by our very own vendors.
– A scavenger hunt that will put your detective skills to the test.
– A mesmerizing magic show by A Yellow Box of Magic at 5:45 pm.
– Bounce houses, tattoos, and craft stations for endless fun.
– Pumpkin decorating
