By Tammy Murphy, Excelsior Springs Farmers Market Director
This past week’s Farmers Market was blessed with absolutely beautiful weather, providing the perfect backdrop for a day of local shopping and community fun. Two new vendors were warmly welcomed into our growing family: Aldrich and Co. dazzled shoppers with their diverse array of body oils, croc charms, and handmade bags, while Lemon Lime Family Time kept the younger crowd engaged with interactive activities and “do at home experiment kits.”
Food was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the day. Taco-ish filled the market air with tantalizing aromas as they cooked up delicious meals for those who came hungry. For dessert or a refreshing treat, Nonnie’s Shaved Ice was on deck, and we’re thrilled to announce that both vendors will be returning next week.
Our steadfast suppliers—Beckner’s Orchards, McCall’s Produce, and Latin American Friends—continued to delight patrons with fresh, local produce. Shoppers also enjoyed a selection of fresh baked goods, honey, and meat, courtesy of our regular vendors. Our crafters were on hand too, offering unique handmade items that added a special touch to the market experience.
We were honored to have the Excelsior Springs Fire Department join us for dinner, and we want to extend our appreciation for their service to the community.
Congratulations to our weekly giveaway winners, Anita D and Susan D! Be sure to come down next week as we welcome back Taco-ish and Nonnie’s Shaved Ice, along with all of our wonderful vendors.
Mark your calendars: we have an exciting celebration planned for the end of October. More details to come soon. Thank you all for making this week’s market a huge success, and we can’t wait to see you next time!
