Clay County families have the opportunity to participate in a free program that aims to help parents navigate difficult situations while raising their children. The Clay County Office of Dispute Resolution has announced a new partnership with The Nurtured Path, which will see the founder of the organization, Chelsea Lane, facilitating a class for parents called “Parenting Through Tough Times.”
The program consists of two in-person classes that will take place on Wednesday, April 19 and 26th at Maple Park Middle School, located at 5300 N Bennington Ave in Kansas City, MO 64119. During these classes, parents will learn how to understand their emotions, respond effectively to challenging situations, and discuss ways to support their children. The program will also provide a space for parents to connect with one another and share their experiences.
Parent Coach & Family Advocate, Chelsea Lane, will lead the two-part experience. According to Lane, the class is designed for parents who are feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and frustrated, as well as for those who want to better understand themselves as caregivers. Attendees can expect to leave the class with new perspectives and practical tools and strategies to improve their connection and cooperation with their family.
This program is ideal for parents who are looking for ways to identify and tame their triggers and want helpful and practical ways to support their children through emotional roller coasters. Participants can also expect to learn how to get their children to listen before losing their cool.
Overall, the program promises to be a valuable experience for Clay County families who are looking for support and guidance while navigating the ups and downs of parenting. With this partnership between The Nurtured Path and the Clay County Office of Dispute Resolution, parents can look forward to gaining valuable insights and practical strategies to help them overcome any challenges they may face.
Through grant funding, the program is being offered for free to Clay County families. Dr. Teri Hargrave, who can be reached at teri.hargrave@courts.mo.gov, is handling the registration process.
