Fire Takes Family Home in Rayville

Edgman Family

Richmond Fire Department responded to a house fire in Rayville on Friday morning that took Jacob and Chelsea Edgman’s family home. Luckily, no one was at home at the time of the fire so they are safe, however, they did lose two beloved cats to the flames. This happened on Chelsea’s first day back to her job as a CNA at Shirkey Nursing and Rehab after recovering from Covid. The family reports that upon further investigation, it was an electrical fire that started in the bathroom. As a result of not having home insurance, the property will be a total loss for the family, that has two children, ages 2 and 4. The family has taken to GoFundMe to try and raise funds to help them start again. They will be staying with family in the meantime.

If you would like to make a contribution to help the family, . The Excelsior Springs Fraternal Order of Eagles #3917 will also be holding a benefit dinner on Friday, February 18, 2022. Click here for more information.
