In the early morning hours of October 8, 2022, the Arnone family narrowly escaped a devastating home fire. At around 4:00 AM Kayla Arnone’s husband and son came home and found the living room on fire. They quickly woke Kayla and told her she needed to get out immediately. Kayla’s son kicked in his sister’s door and rescued his sister and a friend who was staying the night. Although the Arnone family made it out of the home without serious injury, they lost their pets and all of their possessions in the ferocious blaze. They escaped with only the clothes on their backs, Kayla and her daughter didn’t even have their shoes. The Arnone family is now working to rebuild their lives with the help of several local agencies and donations from individuals in the community.
If you are interested in making a donation, a Facebook fundraising campaign has been established for the Arnone family, and their friend Christian Bailey has offered to allow the community to drop off donations at their home. The family is now looking for a home to rent, “we’re looking for a 3-bedroom for less than $1000,” Kayla stated.
Consider making donations to the Good Samaritan Center, Meet the Need, or the American Red Cross to help our community stay prepared for emergencies like this one.
