November 26, 2022 – The Excelsior Springs Scream, the newest team in the American Basketball Association, made quick work of the undermanned Jackson, MS Showboats on Saturday evening easily winning 146-72. The Scream held their first ‘home’ game at Hy-Vee Arena (aka Kemper Arena) in downtown Kansas City. Team owner Titus Bond is working to renovate Roosevelt Gymnasium to serve as the home court for the Scream but several setbacks have delayed the opening of the long-dormant school. A sizeable crowd of more than 100 people made their way downtown to watch the high-flying Scream blow out the Showboats who only managed to bring five players to the matchup. The Scream play again Sunday night at 7:00 PM against the Missouri Capitols.
