Excelsior Springs, Mo. (January 12, 2025) — Sunnyside Park became a winter wonderland on Sunday afternoon as more than 25 residents came together for a lively community snowball fight. Organized through the Excelsior Citizen’s community Facebook Group by local resident Jamie Stith, the event marked a joyful moment of connection for the Excelsior Springs community.

Stith, inspired by a similar gathering in Kansas City the previous week, was quick to rally residents for some wintry fun. “I saw that, and I was like, ‘We should be doing that here!’” Stith said. Her enthusiasm drew an enthusiastic response, resulting in a snow-filled afternoon of laughter and camaraderie.

Excelsior Springs residents of all ages dove into the action during a community snowball fight at Sunnyside Park on Sunday afternoon.

Among the attendees was Robbie Farabee, a well-known local and community supporter. “It was a wonderful event where we got to see different people in the community coming together for some cool, classic snow fun,” Farabee said.

Participants bundled up and dove into the friendly competition, forming teams and dodging snowballs as children and adults alike enjoyed the playful atmosphere. “This is exactly the kind of thing that brings our community together,” said one attendee. “It’s simple, free, and just fun.”
