The City of Excelsior Springs is inviting residents to take part in a special event aimed at shaping the future of the community. On Thursday, September 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the city will host a “Conversation on the Lawn” at the Hall of Waters. This informal gathering is open to the public and will serve as an opportunity for residents to learn about and contribute to the city’s comprehensive planning process.

The event is designed as a come-and-go gathering, allowing participants to drop in at their convenience. During the event, city officials and planning team members will be available to share insights gathered so far and to listen to residents’ visions and ideas for the future of Excelsior Springs. This feedback will be crucial in shaping the comprehensive plan, which will guide the city’s growth and development in the coming years.

Community input is a cornerstone of successful planning, and the city emphasizes the importance of resident participation in this early stage of the process. By attending the “Conversation on the Lawn,” residents will have a direct impact on the priorities and goals that will influence Excelsior Springs’ future.

For those unable to attend, there are other ways to stay informed and involved. The city encourages residents to visit the project website, www.excelsioracommunityrising.com, where they can sign up for updates and receive information about future engagement opportunities. Additionally, residents can opt to receive project alerts via text message by texting “ExcelsiorRising” to 888.521.3871 and following the prompts.

This event marks the first of many steps in the comprehensive planning process, and the city looks forward to hearing from the community as it works to build a shared vision for the future of Excelsior Springs.
