

This April, the Excelsior Springs Hospital, in collaboration with the Excelsior Springs Community Center and Senior Center, are proud to continue their series of health and wellness classes designed to enhance the well-being and knowledge of the community. These events, pivotal for fostering community health education and support, are tailored to meet the diverse needs of our community members.
Registration is essential for both Senior Citizens and/or non-senior participants interested in the lunches, and can be easily done by visiting the Senior Center’s website. All events will take place at the Community Center, unless specified otherwise.
Upcoming Events
Monday, April 8th – 11:30 AM: Join Paula Zigmond, Program and Resources Manager with Clay County Senior Services, for an insightful presentation on the Clay County Caregiver-Directed Respite Program. This innovative program empowers primary caregivers by supporting them in the selection of a respite care worker, essentially handling all employer-related responsibilities including hiring, firing, and payroll taxes. A community aging specialist will be available to guide caregivers through this process, alongside providing information about additional resources specific to the senior population. This session aims to alleviate the pressures faced by caregivers, offering them the support needed to ensure both they and their loved ones receive the best possible care.
Friday, April 12th – 11:30 AM: Emily Braun, Surgery Director at Excelsior Springs Hospital, will provide a comprehensive overview of the hospital’s surgery department and the types of surgical services available to the community. The Excelsior Springs Hospital’s Surgery Clinic is renowned for its holistic approach to surgery, utilizing advanced imaging and minimally invasive techniques to offer a wide range of services. Many of these services are available on an outpatient basis, emphasizing the hospital’s commitment to patient-centered care by enabling individuals to commence their recovery at home swiftly.
Tuesday, April 30th – 11:30 AM: Engage in a fun and educational session with Tina Cook, Excelsior Springs Hospital’s Clinical/Community Education Coordinator, who will be presenting a series of trivia questions focused on the Excelsior Springs Hospital and its dedicated team. This interactive event promises to shed light on the vital role the hospital plays in our community, enhancing participants’ understanding of the available healthcare services and the incredible individuals behind them.
