Excelsior Springs Hospital Announces December Health and Wellness Classes

Excelsior Springs Hospital, in partnership with the Excelsior Springs Community Center, is wrapping up the year with a series of free health and wellness education forums this December. These informative sessions, held at the Senior Center during the 11:30 a.m. luncheon, are designed to provide valuable insights and resources to the community.

December 6: Meet the Need’s “Christmas Store” Program

On December 6, Meet the Need, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, will present details about its annual “Christmas Store” program. This initiative helps bring holiday cheer to those in need by offering gifts, essentials, and support during the festive season. Learn how the program operates, what it provides, and how you can get involved to make a difference in the community.

December 13: Coping with Grief During the Holidays

The holiday season can be challenging for those experiencing grief. Senior Life Solutions will lead a session on December 13 to provide coping strategies and tools for navigating this emotional time. This presentation will explore ways to manage feelings of loss, find moments of connection, and cultivate peace during a season that often emphasizes togetherness.

December 17: Year-End Checklists for Retirement Savings

As the year winds down, it’s an ideal time to assess and fine-tune your financial strategy. On December 17, Greg Broadbent, a Financial Consultant with Family WealthCare Center, will discuss practical steps for optimizing your retirement savings. Attendees will receive guidance on setting financial goals, maximizing contributions, and starting the new year with a solid plan for long-term security.

Registration and Additional Information

These sessions are free to attend, but registration is required for both Senior Center and non-senior lunches. Visit the Senior Center’s website to secure your spot. All events will take place at the Excelsior Springs Community Center. Updates or schedule changes will be posted on the Excelsior Springs Hospital Facebook page.

Take advantage of these educational opportunities to close out the year informed, prepared, and connected to your community.
