Excelsior Springs High School is gearing up for an exciting event as the 2nd Annual ESHS Alumni 3v3 Basketball Tournament takes place on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Organized by Head Coach Ian Burch and the ESHS Men’s Basketball Program, this highly anticipated event invites alumni to lace up their sneakers, reconnect with fellow graduates, and compete for the title of the best three-person team in school history.
Event Details
- Date and Time: Saturday, February 1, 2025. Games begin at 12:00 PM.
- Format: Double elimination tournament with standard basketball scoring (2s and 3s).
- Preliminary Rounds: Two 5-minute halves with a 2-minute halftime.
- Championship Game: Four 3-minute quarters with a 3-minute halftime.
- In case of a tie, the game continues until a team wins by three points.
- Location: ESHS Gymnasium
New Features for 2025
This year’s tournament introduces two exciting updates:
- 12th Grade Player Coaches: Senior basketball players will serve as honorary coaches for each team, fostering connections between alumni and the current program.
- 4-Point Box: A taped area located five feet beyond the three-point line on each wing allows players to score four points for shots made from within the box.
Entry Fees and Registration
- Entry fee for a 3-player team is $30.
- Teams may add up to two additional players for $10 per player.
- Payment (cash or check payable to “Excelsior Springs Men’s Basketball Program”) and signed injury waivers are required before the first game.
