Excelsior Springs Girls’ Tennis Sweeps Ruskin in Home Opener

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo. (Sept. 3, 2024) — The Excelsior Springs Tigers girls’ tennis team dominated their home match on Tuesday with a clean 9-0 sweep over Ruskin. Under the guidance of Coach Richie Marsh, the Tigers showcased their depth and teamwork in both singles and doubles play.

In singles action, the Tigers were unstoppable:

  • Shelby Stodden defeated Samreen Aqeel 8-0
  • Malaya Tedesco defeated Zahara Van Sant 8-3
  • Megan Riegel defeated Emelyn Rodriguez 9-8
  • Laney Smith defeated Shubha Alam 8-0
  • Ananya Carrel defeated Ariana Mansaray 8-0
  • Lily Long defeated Ana Cruz 8-2

In doubles, Excelsior Springs continued their dominance:

  • Stodden and Tedesco defeated Aqeel and Rodriguez 8-1
  • Riegel and Long defeated Van Sant and Mansaray 8-0
  • Smith and Carrel defeated Alam and Cruz 8-1
