Here’s a rundown of all the Fall Festival events taking place in the Excelsior Springs area! Mark your calendars and invite your friends for a fun time!

October 14, 2023
Fall Festival Celebration at Blue Sparrow Garden Center from 10am-4pm
Here’s what you can look forward to:
And that’s not all! We’ll also have Los Vagos KC tacos and the Tip Top Kettle food truck serving up delicious treats for your taste buds. And from 10:25am to 1:30pm we will host a watch party for the Solar Eclipse! Be one of the first 100 to get free solar eclipse viewing glasses!
Slightly Off Broadway Kids Presents The Haunted Mansion from 11am-2pm. Admission is a non-perishable food item that will be donated to Excelsior Springs and Lawson food pantries. Wear your costume and there will be free treat bags. Sponsored by ES Family Dentistry at Slightly Off Broadway, 114 N Marietta St.
Watkins Mill State Park’s Fall on the Farm will take place between 12:00pm and 4:00pm.
Join costumed interpreters at Watkins Woolen Mill State Park and State Historic Site as they demonstrate rural life of the 1870s. Special activities will include corn shelling, cider pressing, gardening, blacksmithing, woodstove cooking, toy making, Victorian children’s games and rag doll making.
Tours of the woolen mill will be available for a fee. There is no admission charge for the event itself. So, come join us for learning and fun!

Excelsior Springs Community Center’s Fall Festival from 6pm-8pm
Join us for a spooktacular evening of family fun at the Excelsior Springs Community Center’s Fall Festival! Mark your calendars for October 28th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and get ready to celebrate the magic of autumn in style. We’ve got a lineup of exciting activities and treats that will make this night unforgettable.
The Community Center will only be open for restroom use and visiting the cafe, which will have specials and limited time offerings!
The parking lot will close down at noon on October 28th, so plan to park in the High School Parking Lot.
Join us for a one of a kind pumpkin adventure! This floating patch will be sure to provide you with your dream pumpkin! Decorating supplies will be provided for you to use following your pick. This is open for youth 3-12 years.
Come enjoy the Halloween Bash at Ray Rocks Offroad Resort!
EVERYONE’S WELCOME! Wanna help? We need trunks for Trunk or Treat! Decorate your car, truck, sxs, or other rig and hand out candy to kids! Message me for more info! Can’t make it, but still wanna help? Drop off candy at the Excelsior Springs or Richmond branches of Community Bank of Missouri until Friday Oct 27th! This’ll give us a backup stash to help our volunteers! Are you a Special Olympics athlete? Contact your local Special Olympics office to get on the guest list for trail rides! Looking forward to a spooktacular day!
Coming for the bash but not wheeling? No gate charge for ghosts and goblins, princesses and superheroes after 3:30pm. Trunk or treat from 4-5pm, Hayrides from 4:30-6:30pm, and bonfire starting at 6:30pm. Food Trucks!

Join the Eagles Club #3917 at 14305 State Hwy Y for a Halloween Party and Costume Contest on Saturday, October 28th from 8pm-11pm. Special guests joining us will be Pompous Jack. Finger food snack and 100% smoke free!
Beacon Realty Trunk or Treat and Scarecrow Contest
Join Beacon Realty for a spooktacular Trunk or Treat event like no other from 6-8pm on Saturday, Oct 28th! Get ready for a frightfully fun time collecting treats from our witches, ghosts, and goblins!
And that’s not all – strike your best poses because a professional photographer will be capturing your Halloween spirit while you post next to the skeletons of yesteryear!

Downtown Trick or Treating from 4pm-6pm
Come one, come all and enjoy trick or treating in Downtown Excelsior Springs with our amazing eateries, drinkeries, shops, boutiques and galleries!
Children are treated from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on the streets of Downtown Excelsior Springs! Then, everyone is invited for the Bill Payne Costume Contest promptly at 6:00 p.m. at the Clay Ray Veterans Hall located at 208 Veterans Memorial Drive (weather permitting). Hotdogs and soda will be available.
This tradition was begun by one of Excelsior Springs’ most beloved police chiefs, Bill Payne. He found a way to make Halloween safe and enjoyable for kids of all ages, keeping everyone busy so there was no time for “Tricks”! The tradition continues with pride today! Come join us to celebrate Halloween in Downtown Excelsior Springs!

The Lawson Haunt presents Movie Madness
Open the last 3 weekends in October on Fridays/Saturdays (opening Friday the 13th)
Due to a toxic spill at the Horror Movie Archive, the scariest movie villains ever imagined have been released into our world. They are waiting to terrify those brave enough to venture through The Lawson Haunt.
The Lawson Haunt, formerly known as the Chamber of Horrors, is a project of the Lawson Community Foundation, the purpose of which is to raise funds for scholarships benefitting local graduating high school seniors.
