
We are excited to announce that Excelsior Citizen has been selected by LION Publishers and Google News to participate as panelists at Google’s annual Community News Summit, held August 16, 2022, in Chicago, Illinois.
In a report of the Excelsior Citizen, Google analysts shared that the Excelsior Citizen has created a trustworthy source of news and information for the community of Excelsior Springs. The founders have built a model for other small news organizations to follow. Google’s analysts also pointed out the Excelsior Citizen’s success in being able to rally our community to engage and make positive changes.”
City of Excelsior Springs’ Community Development Director Laura Mize spoke about the partnership that Excelsior Citizen has with the City by saying, “The Excelsior Citizen is a valuable partner and asset for our city. Communication with residents in a timely manner is a challenge for any small town. The staff of the Excelsior Citizen uses social media extremely effectively to share useful information with local residents.”
