Evidence Ties Jaynie Crosdale to Timothy Haslett’s Home in Ongoing Investigation

TIMOTHY HASLETT TO APPEAR IN COURT ON OCTOBER 9, 2023, AS NEW EVIDENCE IS REVEALED

Today, the Clay County Court held a hearing on the State’s motion to increase the bond of Timothy Haslett, Jr. During the hearing, the State presented evidence to the Court indicating that Jaynie Crosdale, whose remains were found in June and later identified by law enforcement in late July, had been inside the Haslett’s home prior to his arrest.

In a press release, the prosecutor’s office stated that they are committed to ensuring the defendant’s appearance in court and securing the safety of the victim in the present case, as well as that of the community. As such, they made a motion to increase the defendant’s bond which they deemed both appropriate and necessary.

The Court ruled that the defendant’s bond, previously set at $3 million, was sufficient to secure the defendant’s appearance in court and the safety of the community. We respect and accept the ruling of the Court. The defendant’s next court date has been set on October 9 at 1:30 pm. The defendant remains in custody.

The investigation of Ms. Crosdale’s death is active and ongoing. Clay County Prosecuting Attorney Zachary Thompson and Chief Deputy Prosecutor Robert Sanders will accompany the Missouri Highway Patrol tomorrow (August 8, 2023) as they continue to search the Missouri River for additional evidence. “Our office will continue to pursue evidence quickly and aggressively in this matter. If anyone has information that could assist in this investigation, we encourage you to contact law enforcement,” the release stated.
