Elms Under New Management, Higginbotham takes the Helm

October 9, 2022 – The Elms Hotel and Spa recently announced the appointment of Jessica Higginbotham as General Manager. In her new role, Higginbotham will oversee all aspects of the newly renovated hotel and its daily operations, including 153 guest rooms and suites, the 28,000-square-foot Spa at The Elms, three dining outlets, and 11,000 square feet of meeting and event space. She will also work closely with the entire team at The Elms to oversee staff development.

Before joining The Elms Hotel and Spa team, Jessica acted as the Director of Operations at Hyatt Regency Dallas/Fort Worth where she was responsible for the operation of 811 guestrooms and 92,000 square feet of events space. Higginbotham joined the Hyatt family 27 years ago as an Assistant Rooms Manager at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Throughout her tenure with Hyatt, she has worked her way up to various operations roles in the Rooms and F & B departments across the country including in markets such as Tampa, St. Louis, Denver, Boston, Austin, and Dallas. Jessica studied at Nicholls State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing.

I also look forward to getting to know the local Excelsior Springs community in my new role.” Higginbotham comes to Missouri with her husband, Shaun, and their two dogs, Stella Bella the Cocker Spaniel, and Gracie Mae the Boxer.
