Excelsior Springs’ newest Italian deli, Donnici’s Sack Lunches and Catering, celebrated another exciting milestone this past weekend with an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Grand Opening Event. Owned and operated by Carrie Donnici and Michael Donnici, the deli is located at 1500 Kearney Road and has quickly become a local favorite for its authentic Italian flavors and community spirit.
Donnici’s offers a delicious array of classic Italian dishes, including fresh pastas, hearty sandwiches, lasagna, and traditional desserts like cannolis and tiramisu. In addition to their made-from-scratch meals, they also feature a selection of locally sourced products, partnering with area vendors to offer takeaway items such as fresh pasta, sauces, ice cream, sodas, chips, and more.

The community’s rave reviews have matched the Donnicis’ generous hearts. During their Grand Opening on April 25-26, 2025, they offered discounts to Police and Fire service workers as a show of appreciation. They also encouraged customers to bring in unopened, non-perishable food and hygiene items in exchange for $1 off any full meal. All donations, along with 10% of their gross sales, were given to support the Good Samaritan Center.
Following their successful reopening, Donnici’s has announced expanded hours:
- Monday–Friday: 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
- Saturday: 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
- Sunday: 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
They will also host the Excelsior Springs Business Women of Missouri Happy Hour on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 5:30–7:00 p.m., giving even more people a chance to gather, connect, and enjoy their delicious menu.

Whether you’re in the mood for a homemade sandwich, a hearty pasta dish, or a sweet Italian dessert, Donnici’s invites you to stop by, try something new, and experience their warm, welcoming atmosphere.
