Riley and Campbell’s story is one of adventure and transformation. After spending time in Maine before settling in Missouri, they brought with them a shared appreciation for maintaining and beautifying their surroundings. Their home on St. Louis Avenue now stands out as a symbol of holiday cheer.

Since relocating to Excelsior Springs, the couple has embraced the historic character of their new home, blending their personal style with the charm of the neighborhood. This December, their efforts are especially noticeable, with their property featuring festive frosted evergreen decorations, warm lighting, and an overall sense of seasonal joy that has earned them admiration from neighbors and visitors alike.

Joy to the world, or at least the neighborhood!

Thrive Excelsior’s Curb Appeal Award recognizes residents who go above and beyond in maintaining the aesthetic beauty of their homes, helping to build a sense of pride and inspiration throughout the community. Erin and Doug’s home is a fine example of this mission, as their efforts have contributed to the vibrancy and warmth of the St. Louis Avenue neighborhood.

The Curb Appeal Award is part of Thrive Excelsior’s broader mission to enhance the quality of life in Excelsior Springs by encouraging community engagement and celebrating local accomplishments. Previous winners of the award have included longtime residents and newcomers, all of whom share a dedication to making their neighborhoods a welcoming place to live.

As part of their recognition, Erin Riley and Doug Campbell received a $25 gift card to Westlake Hardware, a token of appreciation for their dedication to enhancing their property and contributing to the community’s charm. Additionally, a sign will be placed in their yard, proudly announcing their achievement and letting neighbors and passersby know how valued their efforts are by the Thrive Excelsior program and the wider community.
