

Investigation Into Student Discipline Issue Concludes
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, MO – A press release issued by Excelsior Springs School District says that the teacher who had been accused of excessive disciplinary actions against a student has been cleared of all charges made against them. In a previous story we had reported that according to Kansas City’s Fox 4 News, an allegation of abuse had been made against an Excelsior Springs Cornerstone Elementary school teacher. In their reporting, Fox 4 stated, “The school district said it is aware of allegations that the teacher may have restrained a 10-year-old student and also sprayed the child with apple cider vinegar.”In their release, the Excelsior Springs School Districts stated:
The Excelsior Springs School District has completed a thorough internal investigation of an allegation that a student was subjected to inappropriate disciplinary measures by a staff member at Cornerstone Elementary. The District’s investigation determined that the allegations were unsupported and the District staff member has been restored to full duties. As always, the District’s primary priority remains student safety and the well-being of both our students and staff members. We value the trust and support of our community and appreciate the opportunity to continue providing a safe environment for the education of our students.
