Community Center Farmer’s Market Looking to Grow

It’s harvest time here in Excelsior Springs! If you want the freshest produce, there’s no better place to be than the Farmer’s Market. The Community Center Farmer’s Market is held on Wednesdays from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and beginning today they will also be doing an additional afternoon market from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. These new extended hours will be in place for the rest of the season, which goes until the end of October.

Peppers, tomatoes, green beans and more await you at the Community Center Farmer’s Market.

The Market is also looking to expand their offerings by adding more vendors. Market organizer Colleen Rhodus says that in addition to produce and food vendors she would also gladly welcome those who offer artisan crafts and wares. Community Center organizers have also been working towards getting food trucks to attend their market but clearing strict Clay County health regulations has delayed the process.

“Peaches and Cream” sweet corn looks perfect.

Those interested in becoming a vendor can stop by the Wednesday Market, pick up an application at the front desk of the community center, or call (816)656-2500 for more information.
