Local doctor Erin Schreier has been serving the community of Excelsior Springs for over a decade, providing medical care to patients with a passion for prevention and early detection. Raised in Orrick, Missouri, Schreier moved to Excelsior Springs with her husband in 2004, and shortly after she completed her medical education at Kansas City University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Coming from Orrick, Dr. Schreier has a deep appreciation for the close-knit feel here in Excelsior Springs. With two daughters, one in high school and the other in kindergarten, she loves the sense of familiarity that comes with ling in a small town. Dr. Schreier said some of the new additions to the community have made Excelsior Springs even more enjoyable. Century Park, the dog park, the splash park, and the new Community Center, have all contributed to making Excelsior Springs a better place to call home.
As a family physician, Schreier said she is passionate about the prevention and early detection of diseases, working to keep her patients healthy and happy for the long haul. Her love for her work stems from her desire to help people, something that she has wanted to do since she was very young. “I’ve wanted to be a doctor since I was a little girl… I don’t really know why, I don’t come from a family of doctors. I guess I just always wanted to take care of people,” she said.
Dr. Schreier’s dedication to her patients goes beyond medical care. She sees her patients as members of her own family, and she takes great pride in helping them stay healthy. “I have patients I’ve taken care of for, 15 or 16 years… I love being here, to help them,” she said. The long-lasting relationships with her patients are what she says is the most rewarding aspect of her job.
When she’s not busy at work, Schreier loves to travel with her family and has a particular interest in visiting national parks. She has set a goal to visit most of the national parks in the country, and it’s something that she looks forward to doing in the future. “It’s on my bucket list,” she laughed.

Absolutely wonderful care from this doctor and her Family Practitioner….they have done more to resolve some issues and actually find the problem and treat it than any specialist I’ve been too! I drive quite a ways to stay with this practice.
