Citizen Pets of the Week: Meet Frodo and Sam!

Sam and Frodo make a perfect purr-ito! (submitted photos).

This week, we’re excited to feature two inseparable brothers, Frodo and Sam, who bring endless joy to their owner, Taylor Santini. Adopted at just two months old, these charming feline siblings were born on an unforgettable Friday the 13th—March 13, 2020.

Frodo is the daring leader of this feline fellowship. He’s a striking tuxedo cat known for his outgoing personality. Taylor affectionately calls him a “social butterfly,” always ready for an adventure. Whether he’s climbing to new heights, exploring his surroundings, hunting, or embarking on a mythical quest to “take the ring to Mordor,” Frodo’s zest for life is unmatched. One of his favorite pastimes is “making biscuits,” earning him the playful title of “overtime worker at the biscuit factory” in Taylor’s household.

Sam, on the other hand, is an orange tabby with a heart of gold. Taylor describes him as a “gentle soul” who adores cuddling and won’t hesitate to claim your lap as his throne. While Sam might not share Frodo’s daring spirit, he makes up for it with bravery—and a healthy appreciation for “second breakfasts!”

The bond between these two is unbreakable. Taylor shares that they “cuddle all the time,” proving that sibling love knows no bounds.

A big thank you to Taylor for introducing us to Frodo and Sam, two delightful cats who have warmed our hearts. Be sure to check back next week for another featured pet from the Excelsior Springs community!
